Have you heard "The Gift We Could Not Give Each Other"? It's also by McLean. It's the opposite perspective, and quite true. At least for us. I can tell you from the other side of the coin that my baby is 3, and I still thank his birthmom in my heart and to her.
There is a saying I found when we were waiting: "He is mine in a way that he will never be hers, and he is hers in a way that will never be mine and together we are motherhood".
God bless the birth mothers willing to take a chance on us imperfect adoptive parents.
Hey Courtney. Yes I have heard of that song. My sisters bought the book for more when I lived out in Colorado. I played that CD often and read the lyrics many times. That is a beautiful saying. Thanks for sharing. Hope I get to see you at the family reunion!
I had the priviledge of watching your journey, you are an awesome person Crystal. I admire your strength and courage in not only the gift you gave your daughter and her parents, but also in sharing your story with others.
